Google API Services & Data Use

LocalNinja connects to your Google account so it can manage your Google Business Profile for you. This page explains, in plain language, exactly which Google permissions we request, what data each one lets us access, why we need it, how we store it, and how you can take it back at any time. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Limited Use disclosure. LocalNinja's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can read that policy in full here.

Permissions we request

When you connect your Google account, Google shows you a consent screen listing the permissions below. We ask only for what the product actually uses — nothing is requested for features we haven’t built yet.

Google Business Profile

What we access: Your business listing details (name, address, phone, hours, categories, attributes, and description), your profile photos, your Google Posts, and the reviews customers leave on your profile.

Why we need it:

Read your profile so we can audit it and recommend optimizations.
Read and reply to your customer reviews from your LocalNinja dashboard.
Publish Google Posts, offers, and photos to your profile on your behalf.
Update listing information (categories, description, attributes, hours) that you approve.

Google Search Console

What we access: Aggregated organic search performance for your verified website — the search queries you appear for, plus impressions, clicks, and click-through rate.

Why we need it:

Show how customers find you in Google Search and connect that to your local ranking.
This access is read-only — we never change anything in your Search Console.

Why we need it:

Confirm which Google Account authorized LocalNinja so we bind the connection to the right business.

Email address

What we access: The email address on your Google Account.

Why we need it:

Identify your account and send you service-related notifications about your connected profile.

How we store and protect this data

Google access tokens are stored encrypted and are only used by our servers to make requests to Google on your behalf.
Profile data (reviews, posts, listing details, performance metrics) is cached so your dashboard loads quickly and so we can show trends over time. It is transmitted over HTTPS and protected by access controls.
We never sell your Google data, and we never use it for advertising.

How we use your data — Limited Use commitments

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

We only use Google user data to provide and improve the user-facing features you have requested.
We do not transfer or sell Google user data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other unrelated purpose.
We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements.
We do not use Google user data for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless (a) you have given specific consent, (b) it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, (c) it is required to comply with applicable law, or (d) the data has been aggregated and anonymized and is used only for internal operations.

Retention and deletion

You are in control of the connection. You can revoke LocalNinja’s access at any time from your Google Account permissions page, or by disconnecting your profile inside the LocalNinja dashboard. When you disconnect — or if you ask us to delete your data by emailing info@localninja.io — we delete the stored Google access tokens and the cached Google data associated with your account within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
